The Collective Experience
Acoustic Design Collective was founded on the belief that world-class sound environments should be available to everyone.
Our DNA is global; before forming the Collective, our leadership spent two decades spearheading acoustic strategies for landmark developments across the UK, Australasia and North America. We’ve launched ADC to bring that same level of technical mastery to a more agile, client-focused partnership.
We aren’t just starting a new firm—we’re applying a career’s worth of global insight to your specific challenge.
Below are some Project Spotlights on our collective experience.
1
State Theatre Centre, Western Australia
Performing Arts & Cultural Landmark
Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, this complex includes a 575 proscenium theatre stacked on top of a 234 seat black box studio.
As Lead Acoustician on the project, Amanda was responsible from the competition through to commissioning.
The site sits adjacent to an underground rail line, which at the time of construction was not yet built. The juxtaposition of the theatres on an incredibly tight footprint required considerable design rigour and detail to achieve exemplary acoustic performance.
The result is a venue that is celebrated for its intimate acoustic clarity, enabling performances to coexist with the surrounding city bustle.
This project was delivered during Amanda's tenure at Marshall Day Acoustics.

Monash University Learning & Teaching Building, Victoria
Education & Adaptive Learning Environments
A multi-award-winning, $225M "gateway" facility at the Clayton Campus. Designed by Wardle, the LTB features over 60 innovative formal and informal learning spaces, including the landmark "Learning in the Round" auditorium.
Amanda led the acoustic design and technical modelling throughout all phases, ensuring the buildings 28,000 square metres of floor area could achieve acoustic excellence and deliver the university's "Better Teaching, Better Learning" pedagogy.
Built by Multiplex, the project pushed the bounds, including offsite fabrication, and was delivered on budget and on time.
The result is a 5-Star Green Star-rated facility that has become a global benchmark for tertiary education design. The acoustic environment allows simultaneous active collaboration and quiet individual study within a single, interconnected "internal landscape."
This project was delivered during Amanda's tenure at Marshall Day Acoustics.

WELL International Sound Advisory
Global Standards for Health and Wellbeing
Amanda provides ongoing technical expertise to the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) to shape the "Sound" concept of the WELL Building Standard.
Long before COVID was even a thing, Amanda has been involved in being a specialist advisor on the global evolution of sound standards, focusing on the intersection of acoustic environments, human health and cognitive productivity.
Her global interface provided valuable insight for the group to ensure that the WELL building standard is truly across all countries.
The global framework prioritises the occupant's acoustic experience as a cornerstone of modern design.
Amanda is also a WELL accredited professional, meaning that her expertise goes beyond just that of sound.
Amanda was Co CEO at Marshall Day Acoustics, and VP Architectural Acoustics at Aercoustics during her time on the WELL Sound Advisory. She continues to be involved with WELL.
